WAP Push

Technical description of how you can send WAP Push messages through ViaNett's gateway.

By Nils Arne Tvedten
Updated: 6/28/2005

WAP push can be sent with all SMS clients provided by ViaNett. A WAP push message is sent as an ordinary text message with a special syntax.

Ordinary WAP Push:
wappush:http://wap.vg.no#&#Norwegian newspaper

The first 8 characters of the text message must contain the following text: wappush:

The following text consists of two parts, the url and the text you want to be sent together with the url. These parts are separated by these three characters: #&#
(These characters must always be sent with the message, even if you want to sent a blank message)

Note: WAP push can also be sent as a binary encoded message through our systems. Binary encoded content will require technical skills of how these messages are encoded.

The technology is based on ViaNett Publishing
